A small people carrier/minivan style vehicle. Well, ‘small’ is relative, as this Meriva is significantly bigger than its predecessor. There’s a semi-raised, comfortable driving position that’s higher than a conventional hatch’s. Its funky door design, with the rear hinged at the back are a stroke of genius. Parents of small children will approve, as it allows more space to get the children and out, as well as fit those clumsy car seats with ease. There is lots of glass in the front, which gives the feeling of space. It’s interior is extremely stylish with the dashboard design with many features and storage.

The rear bench can accommodate three with ample space. The centre part of the bench folds and falls forward slightly, allowing the outer two seats to be moved backwards and – simultaneously on a rail – inwards to give rear passengers more leg and elbow room.

With the rear seats in place (and in their forward position), boot space is a respectable 400 litres; it rises to 1500 litres with the seats completely folded. This vehicle is ideal for a family or even a working individual. There is enough space for all the shopping, childrens item, and possibly even beach items when it’s time to relax and have fun.
